The role: Lead Commissioning Engineer

In this pivotal role you will spearhead turnkey project commissioning, testing, and validation. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around ensuring the seamless operation of greenhouse, heating systems, cooling systems, electrical installations,  irrigation systems, climate control system and appurtenant systems as part of the turnkey project.
Your role will be instrumental in guaranteeing the efficiency and reliability of these critical infrastructures to meet our client's production needs.
This position requires a willingness to travel (25% - 50%).
You will report to the Project Director and Project Manager.

As a Lead Commissioning Engineer, your primary responsibilities are:

  • Define Commissioning ITP
  • Prepare commissioning plans, checklists, schedules, and reports, incorporating third-party certifications.
  • Streamline commissioning processes and conduct thorough testing for optimal system performance.
  • Organize and supervise commissioning activities, troubleshoot issues, and provide support to the project team and client.
  • Deliver training sessions and ensure effective communication between clients and the company.
  • Review technical documents, attend meetings, and offer expert advice on project strategies.
  • Facilitate  tests and ensure project completion with third-party sign-offs.
  • Collaborate with design teams to optimize system layouts and configurations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans for potential project challenges.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Conduct field inspections and audits to ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate greenhouse systems with other on-site infrastructure, such as irrigation and climate control systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, operation manuals, and maintenance procedures, to support ongoing system operation and maintenance.

Your profile

  •  A minimum of 8 years of (MEP) commissioning experience.
  • Detailed technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical  services systems (i.e read and understand electrical schematics, understand principal issues in piping systems (e.g. waterhammer, cavitation, etc.).
  • Experience with BMS/Scada/PLC systems a pre.
  • Commissioning certification preferred (CxA, CCP, BCxP, or CBCP).
  • Fluently English speaking and writing. Dutch is an advantage (not a prerequisite).
  • Creative and the ability to problem-solve quickly.
  • Multi-tasking abilities.
  • Individual drive, enthusiasm, and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Hands-on mentality and must be able to make practical modifications on site.
